MATH CONNECTIONS
Below are two units that organize several of the Case Studies into mini-units. At the end of each mini-unit is a math based lesson that aligns to 5th, 6th, or 7th grade math standards for your students to apply their math skills to the financial concepts they learned.
Perfect for STEM curriculum and programs in the classroom.

5TH AND 6TH GRADE MATH STANDARDS
This sequence uses nine of the Case Studies from our Middle School Curriculum with three days of math-based lessons after each mini-unit (color coded below). All math connection lessons build on the financial concepts learned in the preceding lessons and use 5th or 6th grade math standards to apply the knowledge students have learned. Some lessons require 1:1 student devices (and sometimes headphones) for students to complete.
The pre and post-test reflect the financial concepts students have learned and do not include math aligned questions. The tests are intentionally parallel, so please do not share answers from the pretest with students. To request the assessment for your school, please email teachers@fitmoney.org. The pre and post tests are also available in Spanish and Portuguese.
