2020 STEM Business
Plan Curriculum

STEM Education is a critical component of a complete, quality education curriculum as we prepare today’s students to become the innovators, entrepreneurs and job creators of tomorrow.

The FitMoney team has created a design challenge that gives tomorrow’s STEM Middle School (6-8) leaders the opportunity to critically think about and create solutions to address the current issues students and the world face today. Given the uncertainty of what instruction will look like in the 2020-2021 school year and with teachers’ schedules in mind, we’ve created a challenge suited for in person or virtual learning.

How can we get kids to wear masks more often and correctly?

Students will create a product (decorated masks, mask accessories, etc.) to sell in order to persuade peers to wear their masks more regularly and properly.

Students envision a problem-solving product, build a business plan document and make the important calculations in a budget spreadsheet, which culminates in a Business Plan "competition" presentation. Through a socially conscious lens, students will draft a product design, and learn the critical elements to starting a successful business venture to produce, market, and sell the product.
